Lagees and Genklefins, She's done it again!

Last month sometime I was sitting at my desk, working (as any good receptionist should), when out of the corner of my eye I saw a poor, defenseless scaly breasted lorikeet rolling around on the road. Turns out the poor little bugger had flown into a car.

So I picked it up and took it to the vet school. Yay me. It was released a day or two after.

Now today, literally about 10 mins previous to my posting of this blog, i was playing a game working and i heard a loud THUD!

I looked out the window and saw 4 minah birds looking at me, and then to something on the ground out of my view and then back at me. I decided to investigate further...

Tromping through the garden (a regular occurrence for me) i was truthfully expecting to find one of the said minah birds rather groggy on the ground. But low and behold, after shifting aside some shrubbery (no herring involved), i found a little finch-like bird looking at me as if to say "help me". so i picked up the poor thing without any struggle, the minah birds protesting in the background. it sat quietly in my hands until i got it upstairs to the animal ethics office and into a box.

well, we've just let it go, cause it started to wake up and rustle around a bit. so that's a very good sign. we're a little worried cause it didn't go very far and i was able to pat it whilst it was in the tree, so we're thinking maybe either a baby or a pet? if it's still there tomorrow i'll try to grab it again and arrange to get it to someone to look after.

but anyway, it's not five past finishtime and i must be getting home to the family.

i love this feeling. so content with the knowledge that i have rescued a poor little bird from the jaws of certain death at the hands of a bunch of birds who could easily get their dinner from the bins near the refect.

One lump or two?

so today we were off to a good start. the traffic wasn't too heavy, it only took about 40 mins to get to work today. Teen made us giggle as we dropped her off at school. everything seemed a bit brighter than usual (i've been in a pretty dark mood lately. maybe when i work up the strength and courage i'll blog about it. but basically it includes heaps of stress at work, me being sick, and the ending of a relationship that's lasted for over 4 years. which is a pretty big deal at my age really. we were engaged and everything). let's see how long that good feeling lasts.

ok, so there's this old, almost senile woman that works in my office. i'm actually surprised she hasn't put herself through the shredder yet, she's that dumb. and we don't even have a shredder!! she does as little as possible and if she gets more than 2 things to do she says she's swamped and can't possibly do any more. really annoying. and sometimes i will stand in front of her and say something, and it's like it doesn't even register that i'm speaking. and she wonders why i never told her i was going for lunch and things of that nature. for this story we shall call her Dipshit. but anyway... let's continue...

this morning, Ipswich (another co-worker) and myself were having a whinge about Dipshit whilst standing at the copier, when we heard a clunk, a quiet shriek and a scraping noise.
we cautiously looked out the corner of our eyes and sure enough....... Dipshit was frantically clinging to her keyboard. Ipswich had to grab a book and hide behind it to stifle her laughter whilst i did the emo thing and hid behind my hair.
Eccentric (yet another workmate) heard her and so came around the corner to offer assistance. i looked and there was a puddle everywhere.... from the cords at the rear of the desk to the carpet in front. it looked clear so i thought it was water. turns out it was tea.

i guess we know who's desk is gonna be all nice and sticky for the rest of the day.... lulz.

in other news, yesterday whilst i was picking up Mutha from work, we were going home our usual way when i saw a rather strange sight. a volvo, much like mine, but with... (hold onto your hats kids)...... BLACK RACING STRIPES!!!!

he must have seen me pointing and giggling cause when he got closer, he stuck his hand out and gave one of those waves that aren't really a wave, but like a long distance nod of appreciation. kinda like how a motorbike rider will give an upward jerk of the head to another motorbike rider as if to say, "yeah. glad we're still here. i got respect for u."

anywho it was an amusing experience that kept us giggling until we had gotten way around the corner and onto the next street. fun times.... fun times......

a marathon post for a marathon day!!

So yesterday myself, Mutha and Sunny went to Movieworld on the Gold Coast for the whole double birthday thing (mine was yesterday, mums was sunday).

the trip down was tiring.... the wind kept trying to blow my car off course... and considering it's an old volvo (and bloody heavy to boot!!) it did a damn good job of making me wander across the lanes....

but we managed to arrive in one piece. got through the gate no sweat. I turned to Sunny and asked what he thought we should do first...
His reply? "if you ask me to decide anything today i will throuw up on you!"

Nice....

so we wandered around the corner and i stopped and squealed "THE SCOOBY COASTER!!!"

and i dragged them both off for their first scooby experience.

the line was very minimal indeed. pretty much straight on. Sunny and I in the front, Mutha in the back.

Sunny got a fright when something in the dark moved on his left side. Mutha was torn between giggling and being scared... i was just grinning like a loon...

there's one section where u go backwards and all i could hear was Mutha behind me going "oh...oh... OH!!! no!!!!!" etc...... and beside me Sunny screaming "ohshitohshitohshit OH FUCK!!!", which of course made me cack myself all the way down to the bottom of the coaster.....

after that we got some tasty cold beverages and i can't remember if we went to the wild wild west, or played the silly sideshow game first...

i think we did the silly sideshow game, and then the water coaster (we were at the front and got wet!! it was fun) and then we saw the police academy stunt show (i saw this guy in a ridiculous shirt walking in and sitting down and immediately picked him as one of the ones they pull out of the audience. and if not, then he had to be shot for wearing that shirt in public...) and it was very well done. i know they have most of the banter between the cop and the horrible shirt guy organised, but most of this one looked as if it was improvised. it was highly amusing...

but after that i think Sunny and I went on the carousel in the loony toons village... i went on road runner, and Sunny went on sylvester. Mutha sat under a tree and looked after our various junk we had so far accumulated...

after the carousel Sunny and I both dived for the loony toons river ride. it was amusing. Sunny got dripped on. LOL!!!

we also went on the road runner rollercoaster. now THAT was fun. too short in my opinion.

after that, i think we went for some lunch in the western area. i had a wrap and some chips and coke. Mutha had some chips. Sunny had some air and water (he's a plant doncha know?).

after a lovely lunch we watched some poor people try to win a prize by throwing a bouncy ball into a bucket. they failed. big time. the guy running the game was pretty cute (we were staring at him during lunch) so i thought i'd be game enough to make a dick of myself and have a go.

first ball bounced off what i thought was a toy shark and stuck in the bucket. nice landing indeed. second shot hit the sweet spot on the edge of the bucket and stayed in. i was stoked. third shot i didn't care about so i didn't really try. and i missed the bucket by a mile. oh well. i got a big, retarded, stuffed cow as my prize. it was the toy i was eyeing off beforehand anyway. so i was absolutely thrilled!!

after some wandering around and going on the dodgem cars, i think we eventually found our way to the shrek theatre?? the shrek in 4d movie was pretty fun, but the waiting in a stuffy, enclosed room was horrible. it was too long, that's for sure. it's the kind of hot and stuffy where if you have to wait longer than five minutes you start to feel ill.... TBH i felt more sick in that room than i did on any of the rides!!

we also got ourselves some icecream and watched the street parade. pretty cool indeed. the hostess' voice got a bit irritating after a while. too nasally and high. pretty outfit though. towards the end of the parade, they stop the floats and the characters get off and have a bit of a boogie. and shrek tried to steal my icecream..... now if it was shaggy or fred or even the cute ball-game guy ("what balls do you know of that don't bounce??" a classic line that he said which i will never forget!! XD), that'd be fine... but shrek????? ugh!

it started to rain a little so we found some shelter behind the icecream shop. Mutha waited there while Sunny and I had one last ride on the water coaster. of course, it started pissing down while we were running over, but we didn't care cause it was fun anyway...

and after that ride was over, we made one last dash for the scooby coaster. it was pretty much straight in again. it was almost five so a lot of people were leaving.

we got in the front of a carriage and took off. there was and asian couple behind us in the same carriage, why are asian women so damned whiny?? this one screamed like a wuss at every major turn. even Sunny was laughing at her, and that's saying something!!

after we jumped off and laughed at our photo (i forgot where the camera was and so i was making a strange face in the shot. i was making the pop noise that donkey makes in the second [?] shrek movie), we went back to Mutha and started to make our way out of the park. a fun day was had by at least myself, so i didn't care too much about the other two. i had fun and that's what counted.

birthdays rule!!

next year, i think it's seaworld's turn to put up with me for the day.....

counting down already. 366 days to go......

roflz....

>.<

*insert temper tantrum here*

ever get so pissed off at an inanimate object that you just want to get really violent? well this is one of those times....

i gave the usb to the doc to look at in linux.... and he has just brought back the patient and told me the diagnosis. "dead as a doornail". his words. thanks doc.

he says the data would still be there... it's just that the usb isn't going to power up to let me access it. and he finds it ironic that the old computer wouldn't let me access the usb ports at all. i wouldn't be surprised if it's made my usb sick or something.....

oh well.

dammit.... now i gotta go cruising the web for all my lolcats to replace them and whatever.

stupid friggin technology.

i have a headache....

EDIT- forgot to put in a naughty word.....

So Frikking PISSED Right Now!!!!!

So I was at toowong, getting coffee with Mutha and Teen, and everything was all fine and dandy..... until we were leaving the carpark.

Toowong shopping centre has this ridiculous ramp that leads from the roof carpark, down through the majority of the levels and brings you back out to street level.

Well we were cruising down said ramp, going fairly slowly, just cause the majority of people using the ramp are dickheads who speed up there and don't expect to meet anyone coming down, and what should happen but some wanker who wasn't watching where he was going! He was too busy staring at some other car which just turned into a parking space.

Now I don't know if anybody realises what happens when you take your eyes off the road, especially when you're on a tight curve, but yes, this asswipe ended up heading straight for me. He looks up and realises where he is, and the look in his eyes was a pure look of "oh holy crap i'm gonna hit someone!!".

Seeing that he was on my side of the ramp, what do I do but obey my instincts and jerk the wheel to the left. And thanks to said fuckwit, my car ends up connecting with the concrete pillar that is right next to the car. And of course, physics being physics and all, my car gets the absolute shit scraped outta the door and wheel arch. As in, the wheel arch is flat. As in, it looks like I never had a wheel arch to begin with.

Like I said. I'm pretty pissed at his. I kinda wished that he did run into me, cause then I'd do the stereotypical female thing and turn on the waterworks and start swearing at him and make him really uncomfortable nad embarrassed. I'm quite good at that.

We got Teen to wind down the window and stick her head out to check for damages, but she couldn't see anything. This may have to do with the fact that there is a metal strip that pokes out along the door, and I just assumed that it would've provided at least a small amount of protection. Never assume. It makes an ASS out of U and ME.

So I got to work and parked the car, checked out the damages and got quite a huge shock. Got to my office and had a blub. I know, I know, it's a car, who cares? But it's MY car. I've put a fair bit of money into it and I try to do as much as I can to my car, on my own, but of course I'm no mechanic. But the point is, it's my baby. Sure it's old and slow, but it's got personality. Even when I get a new car, I don't want to get rid of the Volvo. Cause it's my baby!! At least I know that when Teen learns to drive, it should survive.

I'll take pictures of my poor car and post them tomorrow... if I remember.... or if I have my cable.....

Well that's unexpected...

So, Heath Ledger was found dead in his apartment today. Mother and I were shocked. If it was Britney, well, let's all be honest..... I don't think anyone would be surprised by that..... but Heath? Gosh....... it's like hearing about Steve Irwin all over again. I'm hearing it, but I don't wanna believe it..... Young people shouldn't die.....

But then again... he was almost 30...... and that is pretty old....

*runs away, ducking for cover..... fearful of whatever it is that the oldies try to throw at me...*
